Porcelain Urns

My specialty is making custom cremation urns in true porcelain fired to 2300ºF in my private gas kiln.   All my urns are by commission only.  For my other ceramics, I am inspired by all creatures great and small living happily among us.

Soapstones

I was intrigued with the carving process of soapstone since it is the opposite of working with clay. Carving is more unforgiving. I enjoy the feel of the cool stone in my hands as I shape each piece carefully, using mostly handtools and sandpaper.

Paintings

I paint in both eastern and western styles.  My watercolours on ricepaper have a contemporary eastern feel. My acrylics use mainly western techniques. I am inspired by nature, the built environment and the beautiful scenes of Canada.
